HOW MUCH BANK BALANCE IS REQUIRED FOR UK STUDENT VISA?

A student wanting to study in the UK has to take care of a few things before finally arriving here. One of the most important steps is planning for living expenses. Students will need money for accommodation, food and travel as well.

A student has to show a bank statement that is not older than 31 days covering 9 months of living expense in the UK.

The amount they will need is roughly £11,385 per year. This figure was taken by adding up the Monthly Living Allowance rates (according to location) listed on gov.uk and then converting that into a yearly sum, which comes out average as around £1,265 per month/per person based on two people sharing an apartment on their own with no bills included such as utilities and internet; it may be higher if you are sharing with others or live in university accommodation which usually covers less expenses than living outside of student halls).

For example If you are studying on a 1-year Master's course, your tuition fees are £14,500 and you have paid your £4,000 deposit plus an extra £2,000 towards your fees. You must show £8,500 (£14,500 - £4000 - £2000) for your tuition fees and £11,385.00 (£1,265 × 9 months) for your living costs. The total maintenance amount you are required to show is £19,885.00 (£8,500 + £11,385). It is also important to note that the balance cannot fall below the required amount as that would not meet the Home Office Requirement. This can lead to rejection of application.
